Activated Charcoal Powder (Therapuetic/Medicinal & Food Grade) - 300g
Not all activated charcoal products are created equal - To my knowledge this is the only Medicinal Grade, Activated Charocal Powder available in New Zealand.
- Therapeutic/Medicinal and food-grade quality
- Steam-activated from coconut shell charcoal
- High adsorption capacity
- Ultra-fine texture
- No additives or fillers
- Also suitable for culinary applications
- 100% pure activated charcoal
Made from sustainably sourced coconut shell and activated using a steam activation process, this premium activated charcoal has a high adsorption capacity and an exceptionally fine texture. Therapeutic-grade (otherwise referred to as medicinal-grade) activated charcoal is produced to an even higher standard of purity and quality control than food grade. It is specifically intended for health applications and undergoes additional processing and testing to ensure it is free from unwanted contaminants, and provides maximum adsorption capacity. That being said, it is still suitable for cullinary aplications.
Activated charcoal has long been valued as a household staple and is commonly kept on hand for digestive support and general first-aid purposes. It is also increasingly popular for culinary uses, adding a striking natural black colour to smoothies, baking, desserts, breads, pizza bases and homemade ice cream.
This Activated Charcoal Powder contains nothing but pure activated charcoal. No fillers, additives, sweeteners, binders or preservatives.
A premium-quality activated charcoal that is equally at home in the pantry, kitchen or first-aid cupboard.

Enjoy Me...
- 1 heaped teaspoon (2g) in half a glass of water. Follow with 1 glass of water. If you have a stomach upset within a couple of hours you should notice a difference.
- To whiten your teeth, you don’t need a special toothbrush - a regular one will do just fine. But you might want to have a second toothbrush for this purpose, as the activated charcoal may discolour the bristles on the brush. Mix activated charcoal powder with water until it is a thick enough consistency that it will stay on your toothbrush. Brush your teeth gently or even just dab the mixture onto your teeth. Wait three minutes before rinsing.
How Interesting...
- Activated charcoal will adsorb and render harmless over 3,000 known drug residues, pesticides, insecticides and just about every harmful chemical known.
- Activated charcoal is pure carbon comprised of millions of tiny micropores which have a large surface area. Just one gram of activated carbon has a surface area in excess of 3,000 m2. This high degree of microporosity makes it extremely effective in binding to vast amounts of organic material. Used for thousands of years for its adsorbing (bonding) properties, it is still the most widely used drawing substance available today. This is why charcoal is found in water filters and used to treat acute poisoning in hospitals around the world as an emergency decontaminant.
